Days of the Week

The days of the week are as follows: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The week is separated by the days people work, and the days people have off. The weekdays are Monday-Friday. People go to their jobs during these days. The weekend is Saturday and Sunday. Some people, though, have different work schedules. Some people have to work on the weekends, and have off during the week. My father is a concierge at an apartment building. He works the night shift. He works Wednesday-Sunday, and has off Monday and Tuesday. Some days, he doesn't even know what day it is!

Grammar Point: Exclamation Point

Exclamation points are used to express surprise, extreme feeling, happiness, or any extreme emotion. They are placed at the end of a sentence, like other punctuation marks. For example, they can express pain. "Ow! I fell off my bike!" They can also express surprise. "Oh my gosh! I never would have expected a surprise party!"

Write 3 sentences using an exclamation point.

Comments

  1. I liked this post! A lot of ELs might not understand that not all people have the same schedules during the week and that some people work when they have off. I think you did a great job explaining this fact. I like your vocabulary exercise; I like how it has students place the vocabulary word in the sentence so they understand the context of it.
